Ombra della sera
I saw an Etruscan statuette with this name in a small museum, an elongated figure of a naked man from a town in Tuscany called Volterra.
The light at dusk fascinated me, its warmth, watching the shadows stretching out until it gets dark. I often compare moods to changes in light, I notice how and when the different personalities of those around me soften. I observe how the light hits objects, body parts.
I draw eyes, faces, legs, fruits. I think about how they would change if a star shone on them at close range, about the things that intensify our shadows.
